Hey! I’m Duncan – a filmmaker and animator based in the UK. I direct and produce animation and VFX projects, and also freelance for other studios.

I’ve been working in filmmaking and animation since 2008 and have had the fortune to collaborate with clients such as Bugatti, Cadbury, McLaren, and Starbucks, to name just a few. I made stop-motion films from a young age, but professionally I started out directing music videos with lots of visual effects. As I moved into commercial and digital projects, my deep familiarity with After Effects naturally drew me back into motion design and animation.

A phase as a drone pilot introduced me to 3D world-building through photogrammetry, which expanded my 3D skillset to include digital doubles. My experience with real-world cinematography translates directly into lighting realistic 3D scenes. With a broad but deep technical toolkit, I’m often brought on to produce and direct projects because I understand how different disciplines need to come together to realize a creative vision.

I love fusing art and technology, often experimenting with sandbox projects before integrating new techniques into day-to-day work.

Outside of work, I have three beautiful kids keeping me on my toes, and I co-founded the charity Help Close By, which uses technology to fight poverty.
